Karen and I talked for a full hour before this interview and I’m sure we could have easily talked for another hour after. We spent a lot of time on the 3 topics that interest us both: wealth creation in an unequal world; how to build a financial life rooted in our values; and our joint concern about the “wealth narrative” in the US. The reality is, we both work with people who are considered “wealthy” but don’t exhibit the associated characteristics or behaviors portrayed by the media (for example, though most of our clients will be directly effected by tax increases, they are still supportive of those increases). There is a sense among our wealthier clients that we are all in this together, and that we need to do more to help people – especially in such difficult times as 2020-2021.
ABOUT THE EPISODE
The very nature of investments is speculative — Real Estate, Stock Markets, even Angel Investing, can all lose value based on factors outside the control of the investor. Jonathan K. DeYoe joins Karen Rands to discuss the concept of Mindful Money — having a plan for investing so emotion doesn’t kill your wealth and you can hedge against unforeseen and unexpected black swan events that can cause investment sectors and assets to collapse in value. During this podcast you will learn that investors do not have to choose between a tremendous financial outcome and living a happy, meaningful life. With these simple principles, you can accumulate and protect your wealth, and avoid the stress and worry about your financial future.
